WHITEHORSE – Renowned First Nations leader Doris Anderson has announced her intention to seek the Yukon Party nomination for Porter Creek North in the 2025 territorial election which must take place on, or before, November 3.

WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Party Official Opposition remains deeply concerned about the state of the Yukon’s finances after the Liberal government issued a $70.2 million special warrant on January 23 that authorizes expenditures without the scrutiny of the Yukon Legislative Assembly. This additional spending comes only 63 days after the government and their NDP partners passed a Fall Supplementary Budget that increased net Operations & Maintenance expenditures by $129.4 million and decreased the projected surplus by $43.6 million.

Yukon Party calls on premier to seek his own democratic mandate

WHITEHORSE – After governing for over two years with no mandate of his own, the Yukon Party Official Opposition is calling on the premier to finally seek one to govern. Ranj Pillai was sworn in as Yukon’s premier on January 14, 2023, after being acclaimed as Liberal Party leader when no other contenders stepped forward to run. Since then, he has governed without any Yukoner ever casting a ballot for him to be premier.

Wade Istchenko Seeks Yukon Party Nomination in Kluane

WHITEHORSE – Three-term Kluane MLA Wade Istchenko announced on January 14 that he will seek the Yukon Party nomination in the Kluane riding for the 2025 territorial election. The election must be held this year on or before November 3.
