WHITEHORSE – Yukon Party Leader Currie Dixon is pleased to announce the campaign team to guide the party through the 2025 territorial election campaign.
Current Porter Creek North MLA Geraldine Van Bibber has decided to not seek re-election and will serve as the campaign chair. Van Bibber is a former Commissioner of the Yukon, who was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2016 and again in 2021. She is a recipient of the Order of Canada.
“It has been a pleasure to serve the constituents of Porter Creek North over the past eight years,” said Van Bibber. “I am pleased to help the Yukon Party and its leader Currie Dixon in the upcoming election as we work to form the next territorial government.”
“I would like to thank Geraldine for her commitment to her constituents and Yukoners in the Yukon Legislative Assembly and throughout the territory,” said Dixon. “I’m happy and very grateful she will be providing us with her wealth of experience and knowledge in the upcoming campaign.”
Former cabinet staff member and current Yukon Party Caucus chief of staff Danny Macdonald will be the campaign manager. Amanda Leslie, who brings significant experience with communications on several federal, territorial, and municipal election campaigns is the communications director. Former news reporter and current Yukon Party Caucus press secretary Tim Kucharuk is the media director. Yukon Party president Melanie Brais will serve as the campaign office manager.
“Any successful election campaign must have solid organizational skills and teamwork behind the scenes,” added Dixon. “I’m excited to have Danny, Amanda, Tim, and Mel on board to help guide the way through the campaign as the Yukon Party rolls out the change Yukoners are looking for and share in a successful election result.”
The next territorial election must be held on or before November 3, 2025.
