Yvonne Clarke

Elected in 2021 to the 35th Yukon Legislative Assembly, Yvonne Clarke proudly serves the residents of Porter Creek Centre. A longtime Yukoner, parent, and entrepreneur, she is a dedicated advocate for the Yukon-Filipino community and an active voice on issues that matter to Yukoners.

With nearly 30 years in the territory, Yvonne brings a diverse background in public service, small business, and volunteer leadership. She is a multilingual mother of three adult children and draws on her lived and professional experience to inform her work on poverty reduction, education, health, human rights, the economy, and violence against women.

Her public service includes over 12 years on the board of the Yukon Learn Society, supporting adult literacy and skills development, and work with the Yukon Public Legal Education Association, where she co-authored the third edition of Splitting Up, a legal resource for women navigating family breakdown.

She has served as Chair of the Yukon Advisory Council on Women’s Issues, advocating for the legal, social, and economic equality of women, and represented Yukon on the National level of the RCMP Commissioner’s Diversity Advisory Committee.

Yvonne is perhaps best known for her long-standing leadership with the Canadian Filipino Society of the Yukon, where she served over 10 years as president, helping newcomers integrate into Yukon life while celebrating and preserving cultural identity.

Whether in the legislature or in the community, Yvonne remains committed to building a more inclusive, equitable Yukon for all.
