Reality Bites: New Yukon Dental Program is Late and Still Missing Answers

WHITEHORSE – Yukon Party Health and Social Services Critic Brad Cathers reiterated outstanding questions from businesses and employees with the announcement of a new Yukon Dental Program. The delayed program also confirms the leader of the NDP’s claim that the territorial Liberals’ are doing the ‘bare minimum’ to fulfill commitments under the 2021 Confidence and Supply Agreement (CASA).

Liberal Capital Budgeting Falls Well Short of ‘Record Setting’

WHITEHORSE – During a public hearing of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, government officials confirmed that the territorial Liberal government struggles to manage capital projects and left $94 million unspent. The committee heard the territorial Liberals budgeted a total of $437.3 million for capital projects in the 2021-2022 fiscal year. The actual amount spent during the fiscal year was $343.3 million, far below the “record setting” capital budget that was promised.

Finance Department Confirms Liberals Underspent on Lot Development

WHITEHORSE – Officials from the Department of Finance confirmed during a public hearing of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts the Liberal government has left millions of dollars on the table, exposing the unreliability of the Minister of Community Services claims that the Liberals were spending ‘record amounts’ on lot development.
