WHITEHORSE – The deadline for submitting a bid to the Canada Games Council has come and gone with no bid from the Yukon. This failure falls squarely at the feet of Community Services Minister Richard Mostyn and the territorial Liberal government.
WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Party Official Opposition is calling on all candidates in the territorial Liberal leadership election to reject the divisive approach taken by the Trudeau Liberals regarding firearms and speak up against the amendments to Bill C-21 that will target law-abiding gun owners in the Yukon.

The report shows our territory had the highest rate of fatalities as a percentage of the population of any jurisdiction in Canada.
WHITEHORSE – The focus of the 2022 fall sitting of the Yukon Legislative Assembly for the Yukon Party Official Opposition was on the inflation crisis and the rising cost of living for Yukoners. Unfortunately, as their minds shifted to a leadership campaign, Liberal Ministers failed to provide adequate solutions or relief for Yukoners.
WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Legislative Assembly has passed a motion from the Yukon Party Official Opposition directing the Premier to seek the advice of the Conflict of Interest Commissioner in relation to the dealings of the former Minister of Health and Social Services in regard to a project in Old Crow.
WHITEHORSE – Members of the Yukon Legislative Assembly have passed a motion calling for the removal of the carbon tax from home heating fuel.
WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Party Official Opposition have voted to support Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Call to Action number 80 as outlined in the 94 Calls to Action. The Yukon NDP brought forward Bill 305, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Act to establish September 30 as a statutory holiday in the Yukon.
