WHITEHORSE – The Yukon Party welcomed Yukoners, current MLAs, candidates, and volunteers to the official opening of the party’s campaign office on Wednesday, April 30, in readiness for the 2025 territorial election, which must be held on or before November 3. Over 90 Yukoners joined Yukon Party Leader Currie Dixon for a barbecue to mark the occasion.
The office is located at 115 Copper Road. Office hours starting in June will be Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. (excepting long weekends.) It will be the hub for central campaign volunteers as they support Yukon Party candidates from throughout the territory.
“Our dedicated team having a central campaign office to work together is critical to the success of any election campaign,” said Yukon Party leader Currie Dixon. “I have asked our Yukon Party team to be ready for whenever the territorial election is called. I would like to thank party president and office manager Melanie Brais for her tireless effort to set up the office and ensure our volunteers have a functioning and positive place to support our candidates and help bring the change in government Yukoners are seeking.”
In the coming weeks, more Yukon Party candidates will be announced. On May 22, electoral boundaries will be determined as to whether the existing 19 Yukon ridings will remain or if the territory will expand to 21 as determined by the Electoral Boundaries Commission.
As per the Yukon Party constitution, riding nomination processes and timing will be announced electronically through local media and to party members. Once a nomination opens, it will not close before 14 days after the notice.
