WHITEHORSE – On Saturday, May 2, over 80 Yukon Party members from across the territory gathered in Whitehorse for the party’s 2026 Annual General Meeting – the first since the Yukon Party won a historic supermajority in the 2025 territorial election. It was a chance for members to catch up on what has been happening and conduct annual party business.
Yukon Party leader Currie Dixon delivered his annual update and gave members a wrap-up of the 2025 election campaign. He thanked candidates, volunteers and party members for their support during the campaign. He also spoke of the tough work ahead, given the financial mess left by the previous NDP-Liberal government.
Party members elected a new executive, with Melanie Brais continuing in her role as party president for a seventh year with the wholehearted support of members. Eric Schroff will continue in his role as vice-president.
“I would like to thank all party members for attending our AGM and conducting important party business,” said Party President Melanie Brais. “As indicated by the turnout, all members are behind the work of our Premier, Ministers and MLAs as they implement the change Yukoners voted for last fall.”
Members unanimously endorsed Dixon as party leader during the mandatory annual leadership review. The Yukon Party is the only territorial party that requires a leadership review each year.
