WHITEHORSE – Two more Yukon Party MLAs will be on the ballot during the 2025 territorial election. After a 14-day nomination period in their respective ridings, Scott Kent will represent the party in Copperbelt South and Yvonne Clarke will represent Porter Creek Centre. Both candidates were acclaimed as the nomination period closed on February 20 at 5:00 pm Yukon time.
The election must be held on or before November 3.
“It’s an honour and privilege representing Copperbelt South residents and businesses,” said Kent. “I look forward to helping voice their issues and priorities as part of the change Yukoners are looking for in a Yukon Party government led by Currie Dixon.”
“It has been a pleasure advocating for residents of Porter Creek Centre over the past four years,” said Clarke. “There is much work to do as the Whistle Bend neighbourhood continues to grow, and I am eager to take those challenges to the Legislative Assembly alongside Currie Dixon and the Yukon Party team.”
“I am proud that Scott and Yvonne have decided to seek another term and have been successfully nominated,” said Leader Currie Dixon. “Together, with team members like Scott and Yvonne, we are ready to provide the change Yukoners are telling us they want.”
As per the Yukon Party constitution, riding nomination processes and timing will be announced electronically through local media and to party members. Once a nomination opens, it will not close before 14 days of the notice.
Yukon Party nominations for Porter Creek South are open until March 4.
