Ted Laking Will Represent the Yukon Party in Porter Creek Centre

WHITEHORSE – Former President of the Association of Yukon Communities and City Councillor Ted Laking will be the Yukon Party candidate in Porter Creek Centre for the upcoming territorial election. Nominations for the riding closed at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10. Laking was acclaimed.

“I am honoured to run for the Yukon Party in Porter Creek Centre,” said Laking. “I am excited to continue to listen to and advocate for the residents of Porter Creek Centre, and fight for a better future for the next generation of Yukoners. There is a lot of work ahead, but I am up for the challenge.”

Born in Dawson City and raised in Porter Creek, Laking has extensive experience at the federal, territorial and municipal levels of government. He has been employed as a senior executive in the private sector in Whitehorse for the last several years.

The next territorial election must be held on or before November 3, 2025.

As per the Yukon Party constitution, riding nomination processes and timing will be announced electronically to party members.
