WHITEHORSE – Lifelong Dawson City resident Richard Nagano has announced he will seek the Yukon Party nomination in Klondike for the 2025 territorial election, which must be called on or before October 3.
The Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation citizen was born and raised in Dawson City and has spent almost four decades serving Yukoners with the territorial government’s Department of Highways. He has also supported local private sector mining and trucking companies and volunteered for various community events, including First Nation kids’ camps. He is an active member of the Canadian Rangers.
“I think the current government is going backwards, and I believe Currie Dixon and his Yukon Party team can change that,” said Nagano. “I am also running to ensure the voice of Dawsonites and the Klondike region is finally heard in the Yukon Legislative Assembly after many years with a representative who did not spend time in our community or hear our concerns.”
