Premier-Designate Currie Dixon Visits Yukon’s Commissioner

WHITEHORSE – After winning 14 seats in the Yukon’s general election on November 3, Premier-Designate Currie Dixon visited the Commissioner of the Yukon on Wednesday morning, November 5, to express that he has the confidence of the Yukon Legislative Assembly.

Commissioner Adeline Webber then invited Dixon to form the next Government of Yukon.

“Yukoners elected a Yukon Party majority government on the promise of change for our territory,” said Dixon. “My visit to the Commissioner has begun the process of enacting that change. We will have more information in the days ahead as we swear in our new Yukon Party government and get to work.”

Dixon also announced his transition team. It will be made up of former Yukon Hospital Corporation CEO Jason Bilsky, former Deputy Minister of Finance Katherine White, and longtime Yukon public servant and Yukon Party vice-president, Eric Schroff.

“Our transition team is made up of experienced public servants who know the inner workings of government,” said Dixon. “I thank Jason, Katherine, and Eric for lending their expertise to ensure the Yukon government has a smooth transition period.”
