Peter Grundmanis to Seek Yukon Party Nomination in Mountainview

WHITEHORSE – Longtime Yukon educator and sports advocate Peter Grundmanis has announced he is seeking the Yukon Party nomination in Mountainview for the 2025 territorial election, which must be held on or before November 3. He has lived in the riding for decades.

Born in Mayo and raised in Elsa, Grundmanis is an educator who taught at FH Collins Secondary in Whitehorse for 30 years and this year filled a gap as vice-principal at Elijah Smith Elementary. He was actively involved in the Yukon’s sports community as an administrator, coach, and official. Grundmanis served as the Executive Director of Yukon School Athletics for four years and has had leadership roles with Team Yukon at the Arctic Winter Games, Canada Winter Games, Volleyball Yukon, and the Yukon Recreation Advisory Committee.

“My whole career, whether through education or sports, has been devoted to making the territory a better place to raise our kids to help ensure they have a future here,” said Grundmanis. “Having lived in the Mountainview riding for so many years and raising my two sons here, I look forward to connecting with residents on the doorstep to hear about what their issues are so I can be our collective voice as part of the Currie Dixon Yukon Party team.”

As per the Yukon Party constitution, riding nomination processes and timing, including for Mountainview, will be announced electronically to party members.
