WHITEHORSE – Born and raised Yukoner Logan Freese has announced he will seek the Yukon Party nomination in the Takhini riding in the 2025 territorial election, which must be held on or before November 3.
The father of two is currently the General Manager of White River Development Corporation/Copper Niisuu Limited Partnership. His experience includes work with Dana Naye Ventures and the Yukon Housing Corporation. He is also a director with the Yukon First Nations Chamber of Commerce and Yukon First Nations Wildfire.
Born and raised in Haines Junction, Freese has lived in the riding for over a decade. He is an active member of the community through his work with the Canadian Rangers and as a coach with Softball Yukon. He is also a former member of the Takhini Elementary School Council.
“I have been involved in the Takhini School Community, and I have heard the concerns over the relocation of Ecole Whitehorse Elementary School to Takhini,” said Freese. “While a new Whitehorse Elementary is needed, I believe the territorial government should have a second look and conduct more consultation with Takhini residents and the school community. I have always been drawn to helping others and feel that at this point in my life, the timing feels right in being able to give back to both the Takhini riding and the territory in a more meaningful way.”
As per the Yukon Party constitution, riding nomination processes and timing, including for Takhini, will be announced electronically to party members.
