Linda Benoit Seeks Yukon Party Nomination in Whistle Bend South

WHITEHORSE – Private sector advocate, committed volunteer, and local businessperson Linda Benoit has announced she will seek the Yukon Party nomination in the new riding of Whistle Bend South in the 2025 territorial election. The election must be held on or before November 3.

Benoit, a lifelong Yukoner who was born in Faro, brings a wealth of experience in both the private and political sectors. Over the past six years, she has worked at a local construction company as a finance and health and safety manager, while also running her own part-time bookkeeping business. Prior to that, Benoit co-owned a local IT company and served in the hospitality sector. She has extensive behind-the-scenes political experience, having worked in the cabinet offices of both former Yukon Party Premiers Dennis Fentie and Darrell Pasloski, as well as in executive roles within the party itself.

Benoit is a dedicated volunteer who currently serves as the treasurer for the Yukon Contractors’ Association and the national organization Equal Voice. She has also volunteered for many organizations, including the Youth of Today Society, Yukon Women in Trades and Technology, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion, and the Canadian Coalition of Women in Science, Engineering, Trades and Technology

“Representing Yukoners is a natural next step in serving my community and the territory,” said Benoit. “I continually hear concerns about housing and the cost of living, contracting, construction and building challenges, energy, our mining industry, health care, and education. I am very proud to join Currie Dixon and the rest of the Yukon Party team to work together and make the Yukon a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”

As per the Yukon Party constitution, riding nomination processes and timing, including for Whistle Bend South, will be announced electronically to party members. To learn more about the Yukon Party and how to support its efforts for change, please visit yukonparty.ca.
