Contested Nomination to be held for YP Nomination in Whitehorse West

WHITEHORSE – Laura Lang and Natalie Taylor will contest the Yukon Party nomination in Whitehorse West for the 2025 territorial election, which must be called on or before October 3. Lang and Taylor both submitted their candidate nomination packages before the nomination period closed at 5 p.m. on August 14.

Party members in Whitehorse West will choose their candidate at a meeting to be held at the Sternwheeler Hotel in Whitehorse on Thursday, August 28.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for candidates to speak and will enable both in-person and telephone voting by secret ballot. Those party members in the Whitehorse West riding who are in good standing at least seven days prior to the nomination meeting will be eligible to cast a ballot.

As per the Yukon Party constitution, riding nomination processes and timing will be announced electronically to party members. To date, Yukon Party candidates are confirmed in 12 of 21 ridings, with nominations currently open in Marsh Lake-Mount Lorne-Golden Horn, Riverdale North, Mountainview, and Watson Lake-Ross River-Faro.
