Supporting Addictions Treatment at Home for S.E. Yukoners

A Yukon Party government will enhance community-based addictions treatment options in Southeast Yukon to enable the region’s residents to seek supports closer to home.

To achieve this, a Yukon Party government will work with community health leaders in Watson Lake and Upper Liard and with Liard First Nation to:

  • Examine the needs for community-based addictions treatment options.

  • Collaboratively develop a path forward.

“The pandemic, and its resulting shadow pandemic, has taken a toll on so many individuals and families in the riding and has clearly highlighted the need to focus on improving supports for mental wellness and addictions,” said Patti McLeod, the Yukon Party candidate for Watson Lake. “A Yukon Party government will work collaboratively to actively help address addictions for all Yukoners and recognizes how crucial healing closer to home can be for many.”
