Whitehorse,Yukon – The Yukon Party held a 5th annual fundraiser during last month’s AME BC Mineral Exploration Roundup in Vancouver, BC and
will contribute a third of the event’s proceeds to establish bursaries for Yukon students pursuing their post-secondary studies.
The event attracted over 100 attendees from the Yukon, BC and Alberta at a downtown restaurant on Monday, January 22 and raised over $30,000 via ticket sales and live and silent auctions.
Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) of the total raised will be attributed to bursaries for students studying at both Yukon College and outside the territory.
“Our youth is our territory’s greatest asset and the Yukon Party is proud to help support post-secondary education for Yukoners in every way that we can,” said party President Mark Beese.
“Removing financial barriers so that Yukon students can pursue their career aspirations and find
rewarding and meaningful work is extremely important to our membership.”
“The Yukon Party greatly appreciates the continued support of the private sector and its commitment to our core values and to our fundraising efforts,” said event organizer and party Vice President Amanda Leslie.
